Despite both being from Pittsburgh, we first met the summer between junior and senior year at a romantic, PSU bar called The Brewery, which is described by many a Yelp-reviewer as “a total dive.” (Special shout out to Ryan Cain and Mike Stetor, without whom this fairy tale would not exist.) Fast forward through a year of hanging out as friends and almost two years of long distance (Chicago/Philly/Pittsburgh/DC), we eventually both settled in the "DC area" (still over an hour apart).

 

After marrying off our roommates, Dean and Lauren, we made Old Town Alexandria our home together, raising our loving - but feisty - dog, Roxy, and enjoying the alluring smell of the local eatery below our apartment (Subway).

 

On New Year’s Day 2015, Shawn wrapped a special note he had written for Christine right before she moved to the DC area, put it under the Christmas tree, and got down on one knee to ask her to marry him.

 

Over these past eight years, many of you have played a significant part in our relationship, and we are grateful for the amazing memories that we share with you. We are even more excited to celebrate with you in April!
